Lydia - the seller of purple cloths (Early Christianity)

Lydia - Of The Purple Dye Trade
Lydia was not her real name, she was born in Thyatira which was a district in the land known as Lydia. She was a God-fearing woman who only praised her religion. She was wealthy and she was used to speaking in front of people and large crowds. She was in Philippi and she met Paul and started talking to him. She went to Philippi to sell her purple cloth as there were many rich people there. She became a Christian because Christianity treats all people equally. She was free to start a house church in her home in Philippi. She really enjoyed the new role as a leader in the Church. She was the very first person to be baptised by Paul.
